 The people at Sunbeam named the product Core-Contact Freezer, which to us here at D3 is simply a name for what it does. The design of this product is very simple and ingenious; it was first seen here in the U.S. from Xigmatek where 4 U-shaped heat pipes connected at the core to make direct contact with the CPU (Core-Contact). Also connected to the heat pipes is a large radiator. Finally, you get a 120mm cooling fan that attaches to the fins to cool everything down. Here is a complete list of what comes inside the package:

I do have to say packing materials are fairly standard although I would hope for better package graphics in the future from Sunbeam.
The look of this kit reminds me of our last thermal solution review, the Xigmatek Dark Knight.
Installed, this cooling unit truly looks like it belongs inside a gamer's PC.
The hardware I used for this demonstration is an AM2+ motherboard for my AMD CPU. In addition to AM2+, it also fits an AMD S-754/939/940. But don't worry, if you don't have an AMD type of motherboard, the Core-Contact Freezer also can be attached to an Intel LGA775 socket motherboard, with which you will need to install the retention ring (included in the box). It also came with a 120mm fan and a couple of clips to hold it, a fan controller, so you can adjust the fan speed, and a tube of Tx-2 thermal grease.
Now for testing, we ran a few temperature tests and the results where surprisingly good. Specs:
Test Results: Default Settings Overclocked to Final Thoughts: The cooler's outer shell does not appear to be very extreme performance oriented, but when you get everything set up, it truly does perform. Honestly, we are not surprised as we have seen this "Core-Contact" before in several other vendors' designs and the difference between them all is just a few degrees. Today, we are glad to see that someone was able to create a great performance thermal solution that is at the same time more than reasonable in price point (currently $39.99 at Newegg.com). In the end, this CPU cooler does a great job cooling down your CPU. It accomplishes what it promises and it achieves those goals well. This is a very well-designed product and it's simple to understand what it does. This is a must-have for all the high-performance and gaming enthusiasts on a budget.
