If you have recently checked out our review of the NVIDIA GTX 285, then you are sure going to be interested to find out the test results of Gigabyte's version of ATI's HD 4870, which is based on the RV770 core. The HD 4870 has been out in the market for a while now but is still a great card. It takes the memory to the new GDDR5 which, even with lower memory clock speeds, actually finds ways to boost its memory bandwidth over that of GDDR3 - all with a 256-bit memory bus versus the 512-bit that all of the new NVIDIA GTX 200 series cards are using.

Gigabyte released the 9600GT with a whole new set of features. Gigabyte, now known for creating Ultra Durable PC components, has just adapted the concept to their VGA line of products and today we will be looking at their new 9600GT UDV - UDV meaning Ultra Durable VGA, which is very well-proven in this card's design.

This card comes fully loaded with a full set of features as it comes with D-Sub, DVI, and even an HDMI port, making this one of the very few video cards in the market to have this feature set. Now let's take a closer look at what this card has to offer.

When manufacturers like Nvidia go through a manufacturing process, shrink vendors and their customers are usually very excited, as the change usually means a price drop and increased performance. Today, I will be reviewing Nvidia's most up-to-date product, the GeForce GTX 285, which Nvidia claims will have improved performance and efficiency compared to the GeForce GTX 280. Let's see how it compares to its competing high-end solutions.
